I have neglected blogging duties for the past few weeks, predominantly due to work and a lack of time to put my thoughts through the keyboard. In this time we have had the whole Tevez saga, which I can only surmise at this time upon reflection (after an incredible 6-1 derby victory) as a situation which has effectively galvanized the team/club.
I know it is too late in the day to go into the whole Tevez gate (although was what he did a surprise and should it be a ’gate or ‘saga’? The guy has been causing trouble for sometime now) but I will comment briefly - as we have far more important things to discuss. Tevez is a footballer with considerable talent, he has tenacity, goal scoring ability and plays with a great amount of heart on the pitch.
Off the pith, he has none of this. No class, no intelligence and no gumption. He in fact, is just a spoon-fed idiot. Basically creating his own mess, he will have now watched his fellow team mates go out and completely decimate his former club, lap up glory and take deserved plaudits. I would like to think he was sitting in front of his TV watching it feeling like the shit head he is. But in all likelihood, because he is a shit head, he will have been doing whatever Tevez does – and it doesn’t involve anything football related. He is as ambiguous as the very comments I make!

Speaking of all conquering. What about Sunday? In previous matches that I was able to watch, I would have done my usual match report with player ratings. However, because there is just so much of that in the media today, I have been happy to just sit back and engorge myself with what is being written.
They were unstoppable, their excuse will be the sending off, but still – City were unstoppable. I just couldn’t believe it, still can’t really. Once the 2nd went in, I was proper jumping up and down scaring the life out of my dog. But then it went 3, 4, 5…..6?! WTF! I was just laughing. It was so EASY, was hilarious. Everything Utd did, was crap. Their player selection, formation, ball retention, passing, attacking, defending – they self destructed. City were the complete opposite and when combined with the ineptitude of the rags, it created such a seismic result.
6-1……. I would say that was the best match I have ever seen in my life. Here are some helpful Lyndhurst Citizen bullet points for you about why it was best ever:
· The fact it was 6 high quality away goals, play at times was Barca esque
· The fact it was against Utd in the swamp
· The fact it was 1st v 2nd in the league creating 5 point gap
· Balotelli being his cheeky best – the start of a world class footballer here
· The City supporters who are so conveniently buried away in the corner of the ground out of site of the TV cameras but who were just constantly making noise throughout
· Finally the sight of Utd fans leaving after 70mins.
What dreams are made of. But it has been there all along folks. For those of us who have watched this team and club grow in the past two years primarily, we are now seeing what the ambition and hard work has now started to produce and it will continue for some time yet. The team were heroes for all of football today, slaying the red devils and bringing them back down to earth with an almighty crash. They will do well to recover from this.
